Decades of Simplifying Complex Guitar Rigs
RJM Music Technology, Inc. was founded in 2003 by Ron Menelli — a lifelong guitarist, engineer, and unapologetic gear fanatic. Ron built his first effect pedal only months after picking up guitar in 7th grade, beginning a path that would eventually merge music and engineering into a singular mission: making sophisticated guitar rigs easier to control.
After earning degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science and spending years in the corporate tech world, Ron launched RJM Music Technology to create solutions that simply didn’t exist at the time. Guitar players needed smarter ways to control increasingly complex rigs without compromising tone, flexibility, or reliability — and RJM set out to build exactly that.
The company’s first product, the Amp Gizmo, was released in 2005 and quickly became a game changer for players looking to integrate MIDI control with traditional amplifiers. Since then, RJM has released more than a dozen products and developed custom solutions for some of the most respected names in the industry.
RJM has collaborated with companies including Fender, Chase Bliss, Friedman Amps, Egnater Amplification, and Fuchs Audio Technology, while RJM systems and controllers have found their way onto stages and studios around the world.
In 2009, Ron’s wife Sheri joined RJM full time, leading the business and marketing side of the company and helping fuel the next era of growth and innovation.
Today, RJM is best known for its industry-leading MIDI foot controllers — including the Mastermind GT and Mastermind LT series — as well as the Mastermind PBC pedalboard controllers. Every product is designed with the same philosophy that started the company: build powerful tools that make complex rigs feel effortless.
